Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of web development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.
    1) Firebug offers more features and little polished
details that make daily development tasks easier to do.

    2) Integration among all tools/panel is better and allow to use
    Firebug as one complex instrument.

    3) There are many extensions implementing additional features.

As built-in tools evolve, Firebug will also take advantage of better
platform (Firefox) APIs and new components (e.g. JSD2). Firebug can
also reuse existing built-in dev-tools UI components and integrate
    itself into it.
This strategy helps Firebug to grow faster and experiment with
ideas for new generation of developer tools at the same time.

You can see Firebug as an extension of built-in tools, which
implements features that are not available in Firefox.
